The title of this sermon is The Death of a Loved One
This sermon is provided by Elder Letia Nichols
Sermon Topic:
Death
Sermon Synopsis:
Unlike the death of an unbeliever, the death of a Saint has components which provide us with hope beyond life as we know it. Death, although experienced everyday, for the survivors is something that you cannot adjust, prepare for, ?fix? or prevent.
Sermon Text:
You don?t have to wonder ?why? death? You don?t have to wonder ?why? them? Remember that the opposite of ?painless? is ?painful? and God did not create one without the other. He has provided, however, a program of ?pain management? through prayer, cleansing through tears, strength through support from others, healing moments, understanding, and time.
There is a bonus for those who die in Christ. You will see them again. Consider this; to everything there is a purpose under the sun. Your ?time? to enjoy each other is now. Although we will see each other in Glory, that will be our time with God. Yes, you will see your loved one again, but the relationship you had with them on earth will be changed. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, God Himself is the center of that (heavenly) existence and He alone will be the focus of our attention?and, we will all worship Him.
Remember, God knows all things and He knows how much you can bare/understand. God does not make mistakes and His judgments are righteous. When you abandon your agenda and read from God?s plan, you will realize that everything is on schedule (even the death of a Saint) and everything is in God?s control.
With whatever time you have left, use it to love, support, care for and enjoy this side of life and each other. That?s God?s Plan. Know that those who are gone before us have ?passed on schedule?.
