This sermon is provided by Paul Shafit

Sermon Topic: Church
Sermon Synopsis: A strong church reaches outward as well as inward
Sermon Text:     We are a new church dedicated to Christ and taking up the clarion call to take the gospel to everyone. We are a church of new beginning. Are you tired and feeling alone? We are a church dedicated to offering you fellowship and love. Have you grown complacent? Where you once on fire for the Lord but drifted away and want to come back? We’re a church of reconciliation. We’re a church that’s about the business of winning souls for Christ. We love praise and worship. We love to share a message with each other and we love the anointing that issues forth when the Word of God touches and stirs those hidden places deep down inside of us. This is our church. Will we grow or just tread water? Our neighborhood is a field waiting to be harvested. We are called to be God’s hands and feet right where we live and work. I don't have all the answers, but I believe that we need to come out of our comfort zone and be a part of the regeneration of our lives and ministries. Do you know what God is calling you to? Do you know what your ministry is? If you are who I think you are you are ready to leave yesterday behind and accept the forgiveness of God and are ready to start your new life. I pray you’ll decide to walk the road with us as we seek the lost of our community. "Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it; That He might present it to Himself a glorious Church" (Eph. 5:25,27). We are that church He gave himself for.

1. Remember, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim. 3:16).
A. Some churches fail because they do not accept the entire Bible as the Word of God, choosing only references compatible
with their man made doctrine. We are a church dedicated to knowing and living God’s Word.
B. A successful church in God's sight is a Christ centered, Bible teaching, Bible believing, and Bible obeying church. Do you
rely on God's plan or your own plan? The only way you can know God’s plan is through His Word.

2. We are dedicated to being a serving church from day one. Remember, "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily
food; And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those
things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" (Jam. 2:15-16).
A. Many churches fail because they are self centered. They don't reach out into the community to those in need. They use
the tithes and offerings to bless only themselves. We want to be blessed but we want to bless the community too.
B. God is pleased and brings success to churches that show concern for the needy, those suffering, and the bereaved. Are
you engaged in community service?

3. Always remember to pray and seek God in all things. "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Eph. 5:19).
A. Not all churches are happy churches. A dull, listless, unfriendly church is a let-down. People leave feeling worse then
when they came. I pray you sense the love and joy we have for God and for you in this fellowship.
B. We want to be a church alive with joyful singing, friendliness, and happy anticipation. We want you to leave here warmly
satisfied that your worship has been received by God, and that you've been in a holy place. We want to be the church
you want to return to.

4. "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few" (Matt. 9:37). Will you commit to become a soul winner?
A. Many people lack a burden and zeal for the unsaved. They make little or no effort toward evangelism. They don’t
understand God’s burden for the lost.
B. The Great Commission admonishes Christians to spread the gospel to every creature. Successful churches reach out to
the lost by life style evangelism, street witnessing, special outreach services, and crusades which are designed to reach
them. (see Matt. 28:19-20). New Beginning is about all of these and fellowship too.

Paul said, "Be not drunk with wine,... but be filled with the Spirit" (Eph. 5:18). Has the Spirit of God called you here today? I think He has. I don’t believe anything happens by chance. God is ready to accept your ministry in His name and bless it. He'll even show you the way. If you put yourself out there, God will fill this church. Spiritual failure results in church failure. Wealth and social prominence cause many churches to lose their spiritual fervor. God must have first place in our lives and in our church. We are a scriptural church; serving, singing, soul-winning, and above all, His. We are a church on the brink of a real spiritual breakthrough and growth. This is the day of your new beginning. Do everything for God's glory and watch Him bless us.
