Sermon Text:     I. Introduction:
a. Every major event is often marked by a celebration
i. Birthdays
ii. Weddings
iii. Holidays
1. This thought pattern came from the Father who after creating, creation sat back and said it is good.
2. The Bible says, when someone comes to the saving knowledge of Christ – angels rejoice.
b. As well there are certain things said in the Word which
are said which pertain to people, places or circumstances
of that day.

d. Mathew 5:17 says that he did not come to nullify or destroy the law he came to fulfill it.
i. The law was designed so nobody can accomplish it, so that we can see our need for a savior.
III. Along with Jesus we must understand certain Celebrations.
a. Passover:
I. We celebrate as Christians but it started in the old testament when the people of Israel fled Egypt walking in their deliverance.
II. We associate this with the saviors resurrection because he was crucified around that time and then 3 days latter resurrected.
III. So this celebration has evolved for us.
i. In secular world they celebrate fertility this day by gathering eggs from a ficticious bunny.
ii. The Bunny is a symbol of fertility and the eggs are showing it’s abundance of fertility.
b. Bar-Mitzvah
I. Still celebrated to date by jewish people.
II. No specific mention of it in our bible, however the Talmud does indicate it and how it was done.
III. There are occasions of it happening but not being labeled as such....
