There are many types of ministries that United Methodist churches can offer. Because of limited resources, most United Methodist churches have to be selective about which ministries they decide to provide to their congregations.

A service that is almost never seen in smaller United Methodist churches is the Singles' ministry. For many churches, single people above age eighteen are automatically included in the main congregation, but United Methodist churches that have larger college crowds and also have a ministry focused on Singles' have a lot of appeal. Usually, only larger United Methodist churches have the staff necessary or even the need to provide such a specialized ministry.
