We meet with God in terms of the covenant that God has established with us, whereby He promises to be our God and He summons us to be His people. Our worship is structured by this covenant relationship. God speaks to us in His Word. We are reminded of His requirements, we respond in repentance and faith, receiving his promises that "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
